The 21st group exhibit “Hydrogen + Fuel Cells + Batteries” was held from April 13 to 17 as part of the Hannover Fair. The group exhibit is one of the most important commercial events for this field in the world.
150 exhibitors from 24 countries were present. One of them was HySafe. The International Conference on Hydrogen Safety will be held this year, and the Hannover Fair is always a good forum to direct visitors’ attention to this event. HySafe board members A. Tchouvelev, Th. Jordan and U. Schmidtchen jointly did their best.
But also apart from this the group exhibit is an excellent opportunity for the association to make contacts to other players from the field, as fas as still necessary, and to alert the public to hydrogen safety matters.
Forum presentations for the public were used two times to demonstrate the state of hydrogen safety and what HySafe contributes to it. Have a look at them here:
A workshop on safety basics will be held by HySafe in Toronto on Sunday, June 3rd in conjunction with the World Hydrogen Energy Conference (WHEC). This will be the second time that HySafe organizes such an event together with a major conference; the first was in conjunction with the International Conference on Hydrogen Safety held in September 2011 in San Francisco (see photo).
The course is intended for students and all professionals who have to do with hydrogen in their work and would like to know more about safely handling it.
Please find details about program and registration here.
The leading international showplace for industrial technologies Hannover Messe 2011 open its doors from 04. – 08.04.2011 in Hannover (Germany).
Hannover Messe 2011 will meet a lot of guests from all over the world.
IA HySafe participates the first time at this large-scale event.
We invite you to visit our booth at the Hannover Messe 2011 Hall 27, Stand A66/2
IA HySafe organizes September 9th 2011 a workshop about Hydrogen Safety.
The workshop will be held in the Hotel Hyatt at Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco (California, USA) (http://www.fishermanswharf.hyatt.com)
This workshop is addressed to students and engineers who want to learn more about:
• General safety aspects
• Hydrogen properties
• Diffusion and embrittlement
• Regulations and standards concerning Hydrogen
• Practical applications (How to build a safe laboratory; How to build a safe filling station)
• Practical experience (Common misconceptions, Accident histories)
The whole program will be published soon.
The workshop recently organised in Brussels was dedicated to the safety of renewable energy. Two presentations concentrated on hydrogen, see http://www.enero.eu/page.asp?id=126&langue=EN. The first given by C. Proust from INERIS showed some interesting results of experiments with type 4 vessels. The other presentation given by T. Jordan KIT showed the results and services of the HySafe network.
Regarding the EC activities there is (surprisingly?) not a word on safety on the next FCH JU General Assembly 26/27 October 2009 in Brussels; see http://ec.europa.eu/research/fch/pdf//stakeholders_general_assembly_2009_programme.pdf#view=fit&pagemode=none
Besides there is the research grouping assembly on Wednesday 28th October 2009. Let’s make sure HySafe is duly represented!
