Mr Shigeru (Sam) Muraki

Tokyo Gas Company Limited | Green Ammonia Consortium

Mr Shigeru (Sam) Muraki is the Executive Advisor to Tokyo Gas Company and the Executive Vice President of the Green Ammonia Consortium.

He has been employed by Tokyo Gas since receiving a degree in Engineering in Applied Chemistry from Tokyo University in 1972.  Over the course of his career at Tokyo Gas, he has served in various senior roles at the company, including as Executive Officer and General Manager of the Gas Resources Department, Senior Executive Officer and Chief Executive of the R&D Division, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive of the Energy Solution Division, and Vice Chairman.

Muraki-san led the Energy Carriers Program within Japan’s Cross-Ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) from 2014 to March 2019, and has also served as Regional Vice Chair, Asia Pacific and South Asia, of the World Energy Council since May 2016.
